Loop Fabric EEG Textrode for Brain Activity Monitoring

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Recently, metallic dry EEG electrodes have been introduced to overcome the limitation of wet electrodes, as conductive gel used causes skin irritation and dries out over time. However, metal a high weight stiff structure that limits them from wearable application. In this work, we developed textile-based electrode (textrode) silver-plated polyamide loop fabric washable up 100 cycles. The new textrode collects quality signals comparable commercial Ag/AgCl electrodes. were detected at all major bandwidths. addition, textrodes showed lower skin-to-electrode impedance (-19.23%) than higher signal-to-noise ratio (+27.4%). Therefore, these novel can be monitor brain activity for applications, especially when long-term monitoring is required.

(eds.), Brain-Computer Interface Research, SpringerBriefs in Electrical and Computer Engineering, DOI 10.1007/978-3-319-09979-8_6 Abstract We present a radically new way of recording EEG comfortably and unobtrusively over long time-periods in natural environments. This break-through has been achieved using electrodes embedded on a customized earpiece as typi...

CogniMeter: EEG-Based Brain States Monitoring

Electroencephalogram (EEG) techniques are traditionally used in the medical field. Recent research work focuses on applying these techniques to daily life with wireless and relatively low-price EEG devices available in the market. As a result, applications such as neurofeedback training, neuromarketing, emotion, stress, mental workload recognition, etc. using EEG techniques on healthy adults ha...

Identification and monitoring of brain activity based on stochastic relevance analysis of short–time EEG rhythms

BACKGROUND The extraction of physiological rhythms from electroencephalography (EEG) data and their automated analyses are extensively studied in clinical monitoring, to find traces of interictal/ictal states of epilepsy. METHODS Because brain wave rhythms in normal and interictal/ictal events, differently influence neuronal activity, our proposed methodology measures the contribution of each...

Mapping Brain Activity Using Wearable EEG Sensors for Mobile Applications

Brain computer interface (BCI) has been used to map brain activity. This mapping is further used for signal classification to generate various control signals. Electroencephalography (EEG) is used to record electrical fields that represent the brain signals and are generated due to the local brain function. EEG recordings for medical diagnosis and prognosis purposes require a specialized labora...
